SUPER BOWL LIX AT A GLANCE

Super Bowl Ad Trends 2025

1 Celebrating Americana

Several Super Bowl ads embraced American culture and the spirit of home. Jeep and Harrison Ford celebrated unity and individuality. Lay’s channeled rural charm. Rocket Mortgage reimagined Take Me Home, Country Roads, tapping into the homeownership dream. And Budweiser’s legendary Clydesdales returned, proving some American traditions never fade.

2 No A-Listers, No Problem

While most brands leaned on star power, a few—Dove, Lay’s, the NFL, and Google—proved that powerful storytelling doesn’t need celebrities. Dove empowered young girls in sports, Google’s Pixel AI shined through a dad preparing for a job interview. Taco Bell even turned the absence of celebrities into a clever twist.

3 Call it a Throwback

This year’s brands hit the rewind button, soundtracking ads with ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s classics. Pfizer packed an emotional punch with LL Cool J, Seal sang to actual seals, and Shania Twain hyped Coffee-Mate. Meanwhile, Hellmann’s Mayo brought When Harry Met Sally back to the diner. Nostalgia never looked—or sounded—better.

  • Social Winners: Did Hollywood Win the Internet?

Hollywood stole the Super Bowl’s biggest social moments—Mission: Impossible, Marvel’s Thunderbolts, and Disney’s Lilo & Stitch. Tom Cruise’s pre-game cameo sent Mission: Impossible soaring with 50,000+ posts in 15 minutes—until Thunderbolts took the crown. Read More.

  • Ad Messaging: Poppi on the Brain

Two beverage brands dominated the night for ad messaging. Poppi’s “Soda Thoughts” spoke right to audiences, earning first place by effectively communicating the soda brand’s message and product, while runner-up Liquid Death used shock and awe to convey their brand, giving a playful take on ‘drinking on the job.’ Read More.
