AI-themed ads are everywhere, but many are struggling to connect—likely because audiences are still trying to wrap their heads around what AI actually is. Using MarketCast Brand Effect, we uncovered the ones from the major tech players that are cutting through the noise and resonating most.
What Works
- Real-life scenarios that make the benefits of AI easy to understand.
- Humor and relatable situations, often outside the workplace.
What Isn’t
- Ads portraying AI as a tool for learning or supporting specific office tasks.
- AI features that are overly complicated or pack too much detail into the messaging.
Apple
Apple’s “More Personal Siri,” featuring The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey, earned top Breakthrough and Message scores by showing Siri’s AI in a relatable moment—reminding us of someone’s name when it matters most.
Google’s “Crushed” knocked it out of the park (see what we did there?) with its ad illustrating the power of Google Cloud AI to generate cool insights from baseball stats. The ad’s standout performance was fueled by airings during MLB broadcasts, connecting directly with fans.
Samsung
Samsung’s “Instant Slow-mo” uses humor and relatable moments to showcase the Galaxy S24’s new AI-powered slow motion video feature, earning strong Breakthrough scores. However, the AI mention is the most subtle of the ads we measured, affecting its Message scores.
